The MiP Workshop is an annual meeting organized by the Matching in Practice network of European researchers working in the research field of Matching Theory and Market Design.
This year’s MiP workshop is funded by the following projects: Prin2022 “Externalities and fairness in allocations and contracts” (CUP J53D23004650006 – ID 2022HLPMKN) and PrinPNRR2022 “Incentivizing participation of compatible pairs in Kidney Paired Exchange Programs” (CUP J53D23015460001- ID P2022P5CHH), both funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU.
The Organizing Committee includes the Messina Unit Manager of the aforementioned projects, Prof. Antonio Miralles Asensio, and the Principal Investigators of both funding projects, respectively Prof. Maria Gabriella Graziano (University of Naples Federico II) and Prof. Antonio Nicolò (University of Padua). External members of the Scientific Committee are Prof. Caterina Calsamiglia (IPEG and ICREA, Spain), Prof. Rustam Hakimov (Université de Lausanne, Switzerland) and Prof. Péter Biró (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary).
Our keynote speaker will be the 2012 Nobel Prize winner Professor Alvin E. Roth (Stanford University). The Workshop will include a roundtable discussion entitled “Advances in Organ Donor Exchange Programs”, in which Dr. Giuseppe Feltrin, Director of the Italian National Transplant Center, will also participate. The event will include a guided walk through the splendid panoramic town of Taormina, where the gala dinner will take place.
The dates of this event are 15 and 16 May 2025. Twelve contributions will be selected for its presentation during the Workshop: six of them on the topic “matching with externalities and equity concerns”, and another six on “dynamic matching and incentives to participation.” Contributions can be theoretical, experimental or empirical. Authors are asked to indicate which topic they adhere to in the submission email. Selected presenters will be contacted on March 15.
For each selected speaker, we will provide the following:
1) return flight to the nearest airport, Catania, up to 300EUR per speaker
2) accommodation with breakfast near the workshop venue (check-in May 14, check-out May 17)
3) coffee-breaks and lunches
4) transportation and guided walk through the beautiful Taormina, where the presenters will enjoy the gala dinner on May 15.
We hope this call will attract the interest of the scholars on matching theory and market design in Europe and worldwide.
Sincerely
The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee.
